Early Literacy (K-2) from Research to Practice

This workshop will focus on how young children’s brains develop.

Research-Based Strategies for Reading, Writing and Reasoning

This workshop will focus on using literature in reading, language arts, science and social studies with special emphasis on decoding and comprehension skills. It features proven methods for helping students to acquire reading strategies and effective writing skills using exciting literature to motivate students for reading, writing and research projects.

Writing Through the Curriculum
A practical, hands-on workshop to help in the teaching of writing as contrasted with the giving of writing assignments. Based on what research says works, participants will experience a variety of use tomorrow strategies for helping students
to become competent writers.


Reading and Writing Non Fiction 
This workshop will focus on using non fiction in reading, language arts, science and social studies with special emphasis on comprehension skills. It features proven methods for helping students to acquire reading strategies; models for effective writing, and exciting
non fiction to motivate  students for reading, writing and research projects.

Research Without Copying Plus Reading in the Content Areas
A hands-on day exploring dozens of models for reporting research in creative ways and a sure-fire method for getting the well-developed, clearlywritten research report without copying.

A Differentiated Curriculum for Gifted Students
Strategies appropriate foruse with gifted students emphasizing the integrated curriculum.
